A Youth Katta was conducted for first year students of the college in seminar hall. Enthusiastic students shared various views with AACCI faculties. Dr. Savita Itkarkar had organised this event under guidance of Principal, Dr. Vankudre.

Dr. Swati Bhave gave introductory lecture and facilitated this youth Katta in an open environment through interactions. Other faculty discussed important issues related to this age. 1) Dr.Shailaja Mane: Body image. 2) Dr. Sharmila Gujar: Friendship 3) Dr. Sanyogita Nadkarni: Romantic relationship.

About 145 students actively participated in this youth Katta. Out of them 50 students have signed up for training

Introductory program to show how life skills education can help Cancer patients and Survivors was held by AACCI Delhi.

The faculty were AACCI Delhi coordinator Dr Latika Bhalla who spoke on Life skill education and AACCI Delhi Jt coordinator Dr Sunita Manchanda, It was attended by around 20 ICS volunteers who were psychologist as well as from school volunteers. The Program was well appreciated by all.

Principal of the college Prof Vankudre inaugurated the session. This session was organised with the help of Prof Savita Ikatkar NSS coordinator and NSS students
There were 110 students from the 1st year classes Dr Swati Bhave explained in detail how to be safe on the internet and the dangers.

AACIC faculty Physiotherapist Sudipta Ballal gave a lecture on importance of maintaining a good posture and the bad effects on mental and physical health

Then Sudipta and Anatomy Professor Dr Veena Kundalkar explained the various mechanisms and demonstrated good and bad postures.

From the analysis of the feedback proforma it was seen that the students very much enjoyed the session and found it very useful

This event was organised by Prof. S. A. Ikatkar (PO) and the team on NSS students. Principal Prof. Dr. H.V Vankure, Prof. Dr. D. A. Godse (HOD), Prof. Dr.S.R. Patil (HOD) graced the event.

A 4 hour AACCI workshop was conducted to teach students how to transition from student life in college to the life in the real world after getting the engineering degree –Issues related to family and work life, choosing a life partner and responsibilities towards aging parents etc. were discussed 100 students from all the branches of final year participated in the program. It included lectures and group discussions.

The introductory lecture and the conclusions and take home messages were delivered by Dr. Swati Bhave.
The other AACCI faculty were Dr. Veena Kundalkar, Sujata Hingne, Dr. Swati Joshi, Dr Bagyashree, Dr. Snehal Apte, Mrs Sharmila Gujar Prof. S.A.Itkarar, facilitated group discussion and guidance to students. Dr Sheetal Nayar, Dr Shilpa Yadav and Mrs Sanjivani Puranik were observer faculty.
This programme was very well appreciated by students as per the feedback forms received.

A free oral health check-up was arranged for students of this college. A team from Aundh District Hospital were invited to do the oral health check –up.
Principal Prof. Dr. H.V.Vanakudre felicitated the denists Dr Ankush Agrawal and Dr Rahul Manigar.
About 450+ students benefited from this camp. It helped to create awareness about their dental and oral health problems and also taught them the importance of prevention The students were very satisfied from this checkup.

A seminar on "Adolescent Reproductive Sexual Health" was organized in this college by Aundh Dist. Hospital, Pune . About 160 students participated
Mrs. Anita Waghchawre and Mrs. Kanchan Sawant from Aundh Dist. hospital delivered the talk on Anemia, sexually transmitted diseases etc. Importance of maintaining good Reproductive health, and importance of sexual health etc were taught to the girls Tablets of iron and folic acid which is essential for girls were distributed to all the students.
AACCI also participated and Dr.Shailaja Mane explained in detail about Nutrition in adolescents.

Dr.Shailaja Mane participated as a faculty in "Handling Difficult Adolescents" in a preconference workshop on 3rd Jan.2018. She was a co faculty for a Station on "ABUSES" like substance abuse ,sexual abuse,emotional abuses etc. She had also contributed an article on "Substance Abuse in Adolescents" which was published in a book form and distributed to all the participants .

Dr.Latika Bhalla participated in Panel Discussion "Ending Child Marriages with CANCAL Group" on 6th Jan 2018. She had done an oral paper presentation on "Analysis of Self Esteem in School children associated with Age, Gender and BMI"

A seminar on Manswasthya Vyakhyan was organized on in Asmitabhavan where faculty from AACCI - Dr.Snehal Apte guided on how to overcome mental issues faced by the youth. She told students various ways to keep themselves mentally healthy like meditation and positive thinking etc. About 80 students enjoyed and benefited by this seminar. AACCI Team had a meeting with the team of BVCOEW - Bharati Vidyapeeth's College of Engineering for Women which is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University.
In BVCOEW team Principal Dr. Harish Vankudre, NSS coordinator Prof. Savita Ikarkar and NSS youth leaders Vidya, Ragini and Pratiksha were present.
In AACCI Team Executive Director Dr. Swati Y. Bhave, Pune coordinator Dr. Shailaja Mane, and Pune core faculty Sujata Hingne were present.
It was decided to sign an MOU for AACCI working with BVCOEW for "holistic wellbeing of all the girl students" with help of training peer educators from NSS and Master Trainers from the staff of the college.
The intervention will begin in this academic year from Dec 2017 for two to four years and impact evaluation will be done. On this occasion, Principal Dr. Harish Vankudre also felicitated Dr. Swati Y. Bhave for the various awards received for her dedicated work.

Dr Swati Y Bhave was invited as Chief Guest for NSS day celebration during NSS week. Principal Prof.Dr.H.V.Vankudre, NSS Program Officer Prof.S.A.Itkarkar, staff members and Alumni were present. Total 130 NSS Volunteers participated in the celebration.

The event started with the Ganesh Vandana by NSS volunteers Kalyani, Vaishnavi and Kirti, followed by opening address of Principal. The Principal felicitated all the guests with handmade Flower vase made by NSS volunteers. Dr Swati Bhave gave a guest lecture on Common problems of girls leaving home and coming to a city for higher education. Dr Shailaja Mane spoke on Importance of Healthy nutrition in young women. The NSS song was presented by NSS Volunteers guided by Ragini and Rutuja. NSS Volunteers enjoyed this event along with the refreshments. This program was a great success and interactive session was very much appreciated. AACCI has been invited to do further programs in this college.

A meeting of State NCD Cell of, Maharashtra was held regarding review of NCD Pilot Project of Pune District. Dr Swati Bhave was invited to attend the meeting. Dr.Shailaja Mane, Coordinator, Pune AACCI represented AACCI in this meeting. Dr. Renuka Jadhav also attended this meeting. This meeting was headed by Dr.Tayade, Civil Surgeon, Pune District and other officials. It was decided to start TOTs for NCD Prevention and screening in Children and Adolescents. AACCI will be taking TOTs for medical officers, staff nurses and anganwadi sevikas as well.

A two day Master trainer course for Life skill education for adult trainers and Peer Educators was organized by AACCI in collaboration with the Dept of Pediatrics, Dr DY Patil Medical College, Pune.

The course coordinators were Dr Swati Y Bhave and Dr Sharad Agarkhdekar and Dr Shailaja Mane was a Joint coordinator. Other faculties were Dr Surekha Joshi from AACCI Dr Geeta Karamblekar, Dr Snehal Apte, and Dr Sharmila Gujar from AACCI Pune. The peer educators and junior faculty for this program were Sourabh Mane and Dr Priyanka Lakhwani. Certificate distribution was done by the auspicious hands of Brig.Dr.Amarjeetsing, Dean Dr.Bhawalkar and Head of Department, Dr. Sharad Agarkhedkar in valedictory ceremony. There were 35 participants from all over India (9 states and 17 cities) .They were from different professions but working for adolescents and interested in LSE.

They consisted of representatives from Organizations.

Individual experts were pediatricians, Dentist, Auryvedic doctor, Engineer, Molecular Physicist, Physiotherapist, clinical psychologists, Rural developments MBA's, social workers etc

Hands on session of taking LSE program on "coping with emotions " was demonstrated by Dr Swati Y Bhave on 35 final year medical students of Dr D Y Patil Medical College, Pune on the second day of the course.

The feedback from the trainees was excellent with requests for such training program in various parts of the country.

A workshop for management of Obesity and its complications was organised for patients and relatives of obese patients by Dr. Jayashree Todkar a well-known bariatric surgeon from Pune. It was organised jointly by JT trust and Apollo Hospitals Pune This session was organised for patients who had bariatric surgery for obesity and or planning to do so. Dr. Swati Bhave was invited as a guest speaker to conduct a session on Coping with emotions in obese patients and using life skills to maintain healthy weight. She had Around 150 people attended this programme.

Dr.Shailaja Mane, Dr.Snehal Apte, Dr. Swati Joshi and Dr. Priyanka Lakhwani (Joint coordinator of AACCI Youth wing) helped in role plays and group discussions many young adults and adults actively participated in this session.

Everyone appreciated the session and requested for more workshops.

Tata Steel Rural Development Society (TSRDS), Jamshedpur | Aug 12, 13, 2017

Tata Steel Rural Development Society (TSRDS) organized a 2 day "Youth conclave" at Jamshedpur on the eve of International Youth Day. Youth conclave was named as "Dhwani- a platform for discussing Youth Issues and concerns and strategies to combat these". AACCI was invited as an organization to take part and contribute to the event. More than 300 students from Jamshedpur, Orissa and nearby tribal area attended the event enthusiastically.

AACCI Pune coordinator, Dr.Shailaja Mane from Pune , and AACCI Delhi Joint Co - ordinator Dr. Sunita Manchanda from Gurgaon represented AACCI . They actively participated in Youth Rally on 12th August 2017. They also facilitated group discussions of youth delegates.

French Society of Adolescent Health organized a "Skills Building Workshop " by International Association of Adolescent Health(IAAH) - "Teen healthy - Go! How to build an effective partnership between young people and professionals in training programs". The first part of the workshop was held at Mandres les Roses, Paris-France . It is the precursor tothe skill building workshop to be held at Delhi on 26th October 2017 as Pre congress event for the 11th World Congress on Adolescent Health by IAAH to be held in New Delhi 27to 30 October 2017.

French Society of Adolescent Health organized a "Skills Building Workshop,"workshop in Paris which is the precursor to the IAAH skill building workshop to be held at Delhi on 26th October 2017 as Pre congress event for the IAAH world Congress to be held in New Delhi 27to 30 October 2017.

A brain storming meeting was organised by NCD Pune task force. Civil Surgeon, Medical officers from Vadgaon Maval, RBSK, RKSK projects and other NGOs participated in this meeting. AACCI was invited for planning of NCD Project related to children and adolescents. Dr Shailaja Mane Co-ordinator- AACCI Pune actively participated in it and shared views.
It was decided that AACCI along with Staff of Pediatric Dept of DY Patil Medical College will train medical officers and paramedical health workers for early identification of NCDs by early screening in children and adolescents. Place, instruments and other backup will be provided by NCD, Pune team.

Maharashtra state health government has formed a state technical committee: Obesity and Diabetes prevention and control task force which will be designing an action plan and policy for addressing Obesity and NCDs in Maharashtra. The main objective of this task-force will be to develop an action plan for prevention and control of Obesity and NCDs in Maharashtra.
The objective of the workshop was to prepare a roadmap for strengthening health systems and effective implementation of NPCDCS program to provide quality care for NCDs in the state of Maharashtra.

The following members from AACCI attended the meeting : Dr Swati Bhave Executive Director AACCI, Dr Sharad Agarkhedkar Advisor AACCI - Pune , Dr Shailaja Mane Co-ordinator AACCI Pune.
Dr Swati Bhave gave a presentation on Importance of beginning NCD awareness and prevention from Infancy to adolescence to prevent Adult NCD's. She also discussed prevention from preconception stage of not having malnourished adolescent girls and teen pregnancy which will lead to LBW - at high risk for Adult NCD. She also presented AACCI experience over last 8 years of school awareness programs for promotion of healthy life style and prevention of Life style diseases which is the mission of AACCI. Through pictures of workshops recently conducted in Pune by Dr Shailaja Mane she explained the methodology and contents of the modules.

AACCI in collaboration with the Adolescent Clinic - Pediatrics Dept D.Y Patil medical college , Pimpri Pune offered to help to screen school children and take care of the high risk for NCD detected children at the adolescent Center.

AACCI and DY Patil Pediatric Dept will work with the RKSK and RBSK school programs to take this forward.

AACCI has developed a training module for doctors of all specialties to make them aware of the POCSO act 2012 . A pilot testing of this module was done with the teachers of DY Patil Medical college Pimpri.
The faculty wwere Dr Swati Y Bhave , Dr Snehal Apte , Dr Shailaja Mane and Dr Swati Joshi .They delivered various lectures on CSA and POCSO Act.Role plays were done by Dr.Geeta Karambelkar and Dr.Shradha Salunkhe.
A total 46 Teachers from various faculties from Pediatrics, Psychiatry, Gynacology, Psychology, Nursing etc. attended this programme enthusiastically and actively and gave a detailed feedback on the module Mrs Nandita from Muskan an NGO working on CSA shared practical experiences of reporting Child Sexual Abuse and answered the doctors queries.
