A workshop for stress & time management and taking care of your health to prevent Life style diseases was held at the AAI Mumbai for AAI officers from various departments. This was organized by AAI Kalyanmayee western region organisation in Mumbai. The full day workshop was conducted by Dr Swati Bhave and Dr Surekha Joshi .The program was attended by more than 50 officers. They were very happy to understand the important of time management and coping with emotions to reduce the stress in life. The hands on training given by giving worksheets for time management was much appreciated. The importance of taking care of your health was an eye opener for many they were also given various handouts to take home .They also found the hands on training of relaxation techniques and pranayam very useful more such workshops are planned due to popular demand.

A workshop for stress management and dealing with shift duties was held at the AAI Mumbai for ATC officers. This was organized by AAI Kalyanmayee western region organisation in Mumbai. The full day workshop was conducted by Dr Swati Bhave and Dr Surekha Joshi .The program was attended by more than 40 officers. They were very happy to understand the adverse health impact of shift duties and how to deal with them. They were also given various handouts to take home .They also found the hands on training of relaxation techniques and pranayam very useful. More such workshops are planned due to popular demand.

Dr Swati Bhave and Dr Surekha Joshi conducted a half day workshop on "Taking care of yourself as a woman and managing your health and stress". This was organized by AAI Kalyanmayee western region organisation in Mumbai. The participants were the spouses of AAI officers and some were working and some were home makers . The program consisted of a very interactive lecture by Dr Swati on various issues followed by an animated question hour session. The program was organizedby Archana Agarwal, Ella Sharma

ADOLCON - The Annual conference of the AHA ( Adolescent Helath Academy ) a subchapter of IAP ( Indian Academy of Pediatrics )

The Following members of AACCI team participated. Dr Swati Y Bhave, Dr Surekha Joshi, Dr Sunita Manchanda, Arti Raghuvanshi and Pallavi Boro and presented research papers in various categories . The details of the papers can be seen on Research. All the four Prizes in the poster paper category was won by the AACCI team .For details please see section awards in research.

Dr Swati Y Bhave was invited as chief guest for the Valedictory function of GENESIS- The Adolescence Education and Life Skills Programme Week organized by Blue Bell Public School Sec -10 Gurgaon for the students of classes 6th to 11th Nov 2012 .Various activities were planned by Dr Alka Saxena the coordinator of Adolescent health.Some of them were: poster making, jingle making, collage making, magazine making, street play, critical thinking games, quiz, etc. All of these were based on themes like gender equality, emotions, substance abuse, female foeticide, nutrition, etc. Dr Bhave and other dignitaries distributed prizes. In her chief Guest address she encouraged the students them to make the most of their school years as this is the best period of human life and actively take part in all the events and activities, as this will make them more confident and help them in becoming independent in adult life.

Women's synergy's-women's orientation meet

WS is a Delhi-based Trust with a non-profit mission, currently having operations in Delhi & NCR. The session was facilitated by Ms. Vaidehi Krishnan; Women's Synergy (WS), Delhi & VOWS - (Volunteers of Women's Synergy .Resource Person: Dr. Swati Bhave; Special Guest: Dr. Sushma Satokar & other program participants.The women participants were a mixed group of home makers and self-employed entrepreneurs.The topics covered were Health of Mothers, self-care & disciplined lifestyles with awareness related to anatomy and environment, Common health problems associated with weight gain and their repercussions on other health issues, Timely & regular health monitoring through screening packages/ self-assessment of health, Health foods vs. fad foods, nutritious foods and eating schedules, Interpersonal relationships & parenting issues especially in joint families Dr Bhave's session covering the above was interactive as she encouraged women to freely question her and get clarifications on all the above topics and related issues

A very interactive workshop for Air Traffic control officers was held by Dr Swati Bhave and her team Psychologist -Arti Raghuvanshi and students volunteer Divyakshi Gupta . The sessions were held on stress management and the adverse health effects of shift work on human body and how to prevent them. Practical demonstration of relaxation techniques like visual imagery , progressive muscle relaxation and chair yoga was given .This was very much appreciated and further workshops have been planned for the ATC officers

A half day program was held for 50 lady officers on " Health , fitness and diet and medical tests to be done for women " by Dr Swati Y Bhave . A survey for diet and fitness was also conducted on the participants

At the International Congress of Adolescent helath at Istanbul there was active participation by AACCI.

Three poster presentations were made on sexuality education, question box methodology and exam anxiety. For more details see Research

A 90 min symposium on anger management was presented during the conference. A Introductory lecture to the AACCI project on prevention of violence and aggression in youth was done by : Dr Swati Y Bhave . AACCI is conducting a Multicentric survey of children and youth on aggression beliefs , attitudes and behaviour . The data from Mumbai and Delhi was presented by Dr Anjali Saxena.

Dr Swati Y Bhave then conducted a session on anger management where she explained the adverse effects of anger and gave tips to express anger in a social acceptable and constructive fashion which does not harm self or others. She also showed hand on demonstration of progressive muscular relaxation, visual imagery, pranayama and meditation. The session had a full hall and was much appreciated by the participants.

AACCI has entered a collaboration with Global Initiative to End All Corporal Punishment of Children (www.endcorporalpunishment.org) . Sahin Antakyalioglu made a presentation on this topic during the symposium. The session ended with an interesting Q/A Session

AACCI Master trainer program in colloboration with Delhi Center of IAP ( Indian Academy of Pediatrics ) and IAP CANCL ( Child abuse Neglect & Child Labour) Group

As part of AACCI project on prevention of violence and aggression in children and youth in India we have entered a partnership with IAP Delhi Center and IAP CANCL.

A master trainers program for the training for the AACCI training module for school teachers. The faculty was Dr Swati Y Bhave , Dr T.S. Jain & Dr Sangeeta Yadav. Also present was President of IAP Delhi Center and IAP CANCL Dr Rajiv Seth .These master trainers will now be ready to train teachers in Delhi schools in the coming month
