Hotel Pride, Shivaji Nagar, Pune | Sept 10, 2017

A workshop for management of Obesity and its complications was organised for patients and relatives of obese patients by Dr. Jayashree Todkar a well-known bariatric surgeon from Pune. It was organised jointly by JT trust and Apollo Hospitals Pune This session was organised for patients who had bariatric surgery for obesity and or planning to do so. Dr. Swati Bhave was invited as a guest speaker to conduct a session on Coping with emotions in obese patients and using life skills to maintain healthy weight. She had Around 150 people attended this programme.

Dr.Shailaja Mane, Dr.Snehal Apte, Dr. Swati Joshi and Dr. Priyanka Lakhwani (Joint coordinator of AACCI Youth wing) helped in role plays and group discussions many young adults and adults actively participated in this session.

Everyone appreciated the session and requested for more workshops.

Tata Steel Rural Development Society (TSRDS), Jamshedpur | Aug 12, 13, 2017

Tata Steel Rural Development Society (TSRDS) organized a 2 day "Youth conclave" at Jamshedpur on the eve of International Youth Day. Youth conclave was named as "Dhwani- a platform for discussing Youth Issues and concerns and strategies to combat these". AACCI was invited as an organization to take part and contribute to the event. More than 300 students from Jamshedpur, Orissa and nearby tribal area attended the event enthusiastically.

AACCI Pune coordinator, Dr.Shailaja Mane from Pune , and AACCI Delhi Joint Co - ordinator Dr. Sunita Manchanda from Gurgaon represented AACCI . They actively participated in Youth Rally on 12th August 2017. They also facilitated group discussions of youth delegates.

Dr.Shailaja Mane shared AACCI experience on "Life Skill education - Innovative ways for college students.-.Dr. Sunita Manchanda shared views on Prevention of violence and aggression in children and Youth in India" .

Dr Swati Y Bhave was invited to give a session on anger Management by Rotary Club Koregaon Park, Pune. The Interactive session was very much enjoyed by the audience. Further session is planned for the Schools adopted by the club.

Dr Swati Y Bhave gave sesssion on understanding about anger and tips to control anger and practical demonstrationfollowed by Q/A to a group of ladies from an all ladies Rotary club of Pune INSPIRA . The audience was very happy and wanted a more indepth workshop on this issues .They also wanted future collaboration with AACCI on holding workshops for teens and parents of various other issues.

About 120 standard 8th to 10th girls attended the programme. The third and last session of Nanhi kali was held .Lectures taken were Faculty was Dr Geeta Karamblekar, Dr Shailaja Mane

The topics discussed during session were :
1 Adolescent sexuality 2 Adolescent pregnancy 3 Life skills education
The girls asked many Questions regarding these issues which are rarely discussed openly
The girls were checked for their HB levels and Blood group by Sneha Foundation organized by Social worker Meenakshi Shewale 25% had low Hb organized by Social worker Meenakshi Shewale

About 80 to 90 girls from standard 8th to 10th attended the programme . The second session of Nanhi kali was held .Lectures taken were Faculty was Dr Geeta Karamblekar and Dr Suhas Sodal
The topics discussed during session were:
1 Common Skin & Hair Problems -. 2. Mental illnesses- Tension, Stress, Anxiety, Depression, Suicidal ideation.
The girls interacted with both the trainers and tried to resolve their queries. They were enthusiastic in sharing their experiences and for being guided about commonly faced problems.

The IAP WW Pune was launched with the Nanhi Kali module. Faculty was Dr Swati Y Bhave, Dr Sampada Tambolikar Pune IAP WW coordinator and Dr Shailaja Mane Jt Co-ordinator This event was in collaboration with an NGO Sneha Foundation social worker Meenakshi Shewale the lectures taken were Nutrition, knowing my body m pubertal changes and menstrual hygiene.120 Girls from 8th 9th and 10th STD attended

The Indian Academy of Pediatrics IAP has formed an IAP Women's Wing in Jan 2016 The Chairperson is Dr Swati Y Bhave and the Convenor is Dr Hima Bindu Singh. In 2017 the IAP WW launched a program for adolescent girls called Nanhi Kali which consists of 12 lectures on various issues related to adolescent health for girls in schools and community

AACCI had organised awarenes session on understanding the issues on child sexual abuse in collaboration with ARPAN hosted by Dept.of Pediatrics on 3rd December 2016 from 10.30 am to 12:30pm. Mrs Chandrika, from ARPAN had took a very very interactive and informative session on CSA

Over 150 people attended . they consisted of faculty resident doctors from various departments. Psychologists from various institutes in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad area also participated in it.

The session was very very well appreciated by all. After the session it was announced that a 2 day training workshop is planned to be held for health professional in the coming months. Many of the attendes enrolled for the workshop

A four hour interactive workshop was held from 9to 1 pm for adults to learn above understand and coping with emotions. The various emotions were explained giving the biological and psychological aspects with help of very colorful images and slides. Generation of various emotions was illustrated by role plays by the faculty. An Acitivity sheet was given to help them analyze a recent emotional event. Hands on practice was given on various relaxation techniques after showing illustrative videos .The workshop got a very good feedback.

Anger Management

Women's synergy's-women's orientation meet

WS is a Delhi-based Trust with a non-profit mission, currently having operations in Delhi & NCR. The session was facilitated by Ms. Vaidehi Krishnan; Women's Synergy (WS), Delhi & VOWS - (Volunteers of Women's Synergy .Resource Person: Dr. Swati Bhave; Special Guest: Dr. Sushma Satokar & other program participants.The women participants were a mixed group of home makers and self-employed entrepreneurs.The topics covered were Health of Mothers, self-care & disciplined lifestyles with awareness related to anatomy and environment, Common health problems associated with weight gain and their repercussions on other health issues, Timely & regular health monitoring through screening packages/ self-assessment of health, Health foods vs. fad foods, nutritious foods and eating schedules, Interpersonal relationships & parenting issues especially in joint families Dr Bhave's session covering the above was interactive as she encouraged women to freely question her and get clarifications on all the above topics and related issues

Pune city has a doctors Orchestra called LETS ACT which conducts programs to generate funds for cancer patients .They also conduct theme programs where they give health messages in-between the songs that are related to the health theme .They planned to conduct a anti-tobacco program and invited Dr Swati Bhave participate and give health .Thus was a very successful program and have over 1000 audience

Dr Swati Bhave gave a lecture on cybersafety for children at the Annual Zoroastrian Children's program in Mumbai .This is a annual get together of nearly 3000 children from, 5-18 yrs of age , many who come with parents. They are from all over India but majority from Maharashtra and Gujarat .There are competitions for the dance , music and skit programs. She also was one of the judges for this.

This was a program organised by the women's wing IMA Pune .The audience consisted of lady doctors and parents.

Dr Bhave gave a detailed presentation on causes and prevention of suicide and also medical management. The other speaker was Anagha Lovalekar from Jnana Prabodhini and she spoke of/on sexual abuse and related depression and suicide.

Dr Swati Bhave then conducted an active Interactive question answer session.

The program was attended by over 50 doctors and parents and there was an excellent feedback with invitations to do this program in their Institutions

DY Patil Medical College, Pune | Jan 22, 2010

This was a program organised by DY Patil Medical College under the joint banner of AACCI .The Dean Brig Amarjeet Singh inaugurated the program .The introduction to understanding adolescence was given by Dr Sharad Agarkedkar, Prof & HOD of Dept of pediatrics . Dr Swati Y Bhave, Executive Director AACCI delivered a lecture on what causes suicide and how parents, teachers can prevent this. Sanjukta Deshpande a Clinical psychologist also gave valuable suggestions on this topic.

Dr Bhave then conducted an active Interactive question answer session where some participants shared their experiences of being a close friend or relative of a person committing suicide. Dr Bhave counselled on how to deal with this situation.

The program was attended by over 150 parents and teachers and there was an excellent feedback with invitations to do this program in their Institutions

Nagpur | Oct 30, 2009

In collaboration with Centre for Behavioural sciences (CIBS), Nagpur

This was organised by the CIBS. There were more than 100 parents of children of all ages including some teen age children. There were three speakers, Dr Shailash Pangaonkar Director of CIBS, Dr Swati Bhave and Dr Shrikant Chorghade Coordinator Nagpur AACCI . After short lectures on various issues of children and adolescents, there was open forum and a lot of interaction. The questions went beyond he stipulated one hour and had to be closed down after two hours due the exhaustion of the panellists.
