  • Dr Sujata Kanhere is a renowned paediatrician and neonatologist who has specialized in pediatric neurology and developmental paediatrics. She is Professor in the Department of Pediatrics and Neonatology at K.J. Somaiya Medical College and Hospital, Mumbai and is incharge of Pediatric Neurology (including Video EEG) and Developmental Pediatrics, a division established by her 14 years ago. She has been Visiting Faculty for Pediatrics at Ali Yavar Jung National Institute for the Hearing Handicapped, Mumbai.
  • Dr Sujata Kanhere has had a brilliant career having done MBBS from Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi and DCH and DNB (Pediatrics) from K.E.M. Hospital, Pune and FRCPCH (London). She has experience in the field of Neurodevelopment of high risk newborns since 1987. She has been trained in Pediatric Epilepsy and EEG including Video EEG at Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital for Children, Mumbai for two years from 1996-98.
  • Dr Sujata is a renowned speaker at national and international conferences and a prolific writer having more than 40 publications to her credit including a book on “Headaches in Children and Adolescents”. She is a peer reviewer and member of the Editorial Board for national and international pediatric journals. She is invited as an expert on radio and TV chat shows.
  • She is recipient of Dr V. Balagopal Raju Award and Gold Medal in 1993, the Dr S.R. Amarnath Research Fellowship in Neurology-Pediatric Epilepsy in 1997, the GSMC FAIMER (USA) Fellowship in 2006-07, Hargobind Fellowship in 2009, the International Medical Excellence Award and gold medal in 2009 and Fellowship in Pediatric Neurology in the UK. She is a keen academician being a member of the Medical Education Technology Cell , and a post graduate teacher recognized by Maharashtra University of Health Sciences. A PALS and NALS instructor, a trainer of trainers for Newborn care and Disability Management and a FAIMER National faculty, Dr. Sujata is a acclaimed teacher.
  • She is National Faculty and National Coordinator for IAP National Taskforce on Seizure and Movement disorders in Office practice 2012. She has been National Coordinator for IAP Pediatric Quiz for undergraduates in 2010 and 2011 and is a member of the NNF Perinatal Taskforce committee 2012.
