Dr Shailesh Vasudeo Pangaonkar, Consultant Psychiatrist , now is a well known name in the field of child psychiatry in Nagpur. He is member of Geriatric Society of India and member of the American Psychiatric Association. He has brought a new change in the contemporary pattern prevailing in Nagpur. In this short span since 1998, he has not only developed an institute to cater the needs of the patients but also to uplift the quality of life in common man. Blending the vedic concepts of Indian culture with the modern scientific data he has developed unique programs for sports psychology ( MANOLAKSH), Child Development ( MANTHAN ), Academic Development ( DISHA ), Quality of life in heart diseases, kidney transplants, Asthma ,( MANODHARA ) , Psycho-education during pregnancy ( MANODAYA ) , Teachers Skill Enhancement program ( GURUTVA). Till date he has delivered over 154 talks on almost all the issues concerning day to day life. He has received the IPS -WZ President award for his research on Child Psychiatry .Recognized by the Junior Chamber as the Out Standing Young Indian. He has been interviewed on Doordarshan twice, has produced three 13-episode serials for All India Radio on Sports Psychology. He has master minded the campaign against TV for young children. This campaign with his team work has reached the national level since June 2002. He has been involved in grooming the first test century of the international cricket player Sanjay Bangar at Nagpur.
